A brilliant plastic surgeon creates a type of synthetic skin that withstands any kind of damage. Haunted by past tragedies, he uses a mysterious woman as his guinea pig. Stylish updating of the Frankenstein story by Spain’s most celebrated filmmaker.

 

Deliciously dark, superbly written thriller-slash-twisted love story that explores some fascinating ideas about obsession and revenge, and features a terrific performance from Antonio Banderas.

Eight French Christian monks live in harmony with their Muslim brothers in a monastery perched in the mountains of North Africa in the 1990s. When a crew of foreign workers is massacred by an Islamic fundamentalist group, the monks have to decide whether to leave or stay.

 

Beautifully acted by its ensemble cast, Of Gods and Men immerses us in its subjects' rituals, everyday tasks and spiritual dilemmas.

Director: Gianni Di Gregorio. Cast: Gianni Di Gregorio, Valeria De Franciscis.

 

Endearing comic tale about a man past his prime who longs for romance. Mid-August Lunch writer/director Gianni Di Gregorio returns with a second helping just as good as the first. Once again he plays a dutiful son with a mother in her 90s, but this time he has a wife and daughter as well.

 

Lustrous, effortless, entrancing, it infects your mood as happily as a hazy Roman afternoon.

Bungay Film Club is run by a small group of film enthusiasts. We show foreign, independent or classic films once a month at the Fisher Theatre in Bungay, Suffolk. The archive below shows our recent screenings.

Our screening date is usually (but not always) the last Monday of each month. Screenings begin at 7.30pm. Members pay £10 for a year's membership and £2.50 for each film. Guests are very welcome and pay £5 for each film.  We currently have eleven screenings each year. Please note that we function independently of the Fisher Theatre and are unable to use their credit card payment facility. We can not therefore accept payment by credit card.

The licensed bar is open for half an hour before each screening and for an indefinite time afterwards, providing a welcome opportunity for members and guests to discuss the evening’s film or simply enjoy a drink together. Drinks may also be taken into the auditorium during a screening.

We would very much like to expand our membership. New members will be made very welcome and can join at the Box Office. Guests too are assured of a warm welcome.
